Red Lifeguard Shorts, built for a full poolside shift. Deep lifeguard red with yellow Swimcore Academy embroidery, cut long enough to look professional and light enough that you forget you are wearing them by hour three.

The waist is elasticated with a branded drawcord, so it stays put through a rescue rather than working loose halfway down the pool.

Two zipped side pockets take a whistle, keys and a phone without anything dropping in the water when you crouch to the poolside.

We wear these on our own poolside at Swimcore Academy, so they are made for working guards, swim teachers and pool staff rather than for the beach.

Who are these shorts for?

Working lifeguards, swim teachers and pool staff. They are a poolside uniform short rather than a swimming short, so you wear them over a costume or on their own for a shift on the side, and they are cut to look tidy in front of customers.

Are these men's lifeguard shorts or unisex?

There is one adult cut, sized S to XXL, and it is worn across our whole team rather than being cut for one build. Go by the waist measurement on the chart rather than by what you would normally take in high street sizing.

Do the pockets actually zip?

Yes, both side pockets have a zip. That is the point of them: you can carry a whistle, a set of keys and a phone and still crouch to the poolside or kneel to talk to a swimmer without anything sliding out into the water.

What size should I choose?

Sizes run S to XXL, with a waist from 71 to 76 cm on S up to 91 to 96 cm on XXL. Use the chart below, and if you are between two sizes, size down, because the elasticated waist gives plenty.

Do you deliver across the UK?

Yes, we deliver across the UK. If an order is delayed, it is because that size has sold out and is being replenished, and that will take no longer than 10 working days.

One thing we will not do is guess at a spec. We have not published a fibre composition or an inseam figure for these yet, so we do not state either. What the chart does give is a garment length of 16 to 18 inches depending on size.
